Europe’s Day, together with European Cultural Foundation

Going back in time, on the 9th of May 1950, Robert Schumann held a declaration about a new form of cooperation in Europe. Today, we know it as the European Union.

70 years later, we celebrate Europe’s Day, as a symbol of peace and unity among European states.

For In Search of Democracy 3.0, Europe’s Day is a special day. We commemorate the values our democracies are trying to safeguard and we remember the importance of democracy.

We live in hard times, which do not give us the chance of celebrating together this year. But even when physically apart, we remain united. We keep searching for new ways to improve our democracies even while we are facing physical isolation.

This year, for Europe’s Day, we accepted the challenge of European Cultural Foundationto talk about our journey in search of democracy.

For the past year we travelled around Europe, asking people “What are the most important elements of a democracy?” and here is what we found out. For the first time, we analysed the results of the Live Research Performance.

The journey is not done. We will tour again. But for now, you can find the full article here.

At the same time, you can take a look through a series of windows to experience Europe here.
